After thirty years in the big corporation, Ugo Fantozzi retires. He then fakes documents to get a new job, but in the end he becomes a hypochondriac and doesn't even take a long-awaited chance with Miss Silvani.

Rizzo felügyelő, azaz Piedone (Bud Spencer) újra akcióban, ezúttal egy gazdag olajmágnás csinos unokahúgát (Cinzia Monreale) szabadítja ki. A mentőakció során rájön, hogy az emberrabló (Karl-Otto Alberty) egy nemzetközileg körözött, rendkívül veszélyes bűnöző, aki különböző álneveken bujkál. Piedone nem ijed meg az árnyékától, és nyomozni kezd, hogy kiderítse, mi áll a rablás hátterében. Hamarosan rájön, hogy a bűnöző egy új olajfinomítási eljárás részletes tervét akarja megszerezni, ezért Egyiptomba utazik. Arra nem számít, hogy ezúttal Piedone is a nyomában van, akinek már nagyon viszket a tenyere egy-két kiadós pofonra.

Fantozzi meghal, de a főnökének annyira hiányzik, hogy egy hajszálából klónoztatja a világ legszerencsétlenebb könyvelőjét. Így aztán megint van kit ugráltatnia nap mint nap.
